[00:00:01] Hi folks. My name's Don Barron and I'm an ex criminal. I've served a lot of time through the South Australian jail system. [00:00:11] I grew up in Broken Hill, New South Wales with a good family. I went to a good school and all those types of things. [00:00:20] I've lived in Sydney, worked in Sydney and then I moved to South Australia, Adelaide suburbs. [00:00:28] I was there for about 25 years. [00:00:32] Along the way I had a successful computer company, I was a managing director. [00:00:37] We had about seven stores, won multiple small business awards. [00:00:42] And along the way I became involved in crime, interstate trafficking of drugs. [00:00:48] And along the way I met a lot of colorful characters, both Sydney, Melbourne underworld and things like that. [00:00:57] I also became an addict. I went to jail. I've served a lot of time throughout the prison system down in South Australia. Adelaide Remand Centre, Yatala Labour Prison, Mobilong Prison and Cadell Training Centre along with Adelaide Pre Release Centre. [00:01:16] Jail is hard, but we all make it through the day. [00:01:21] I've also been homeless. [00:01:24] I then went to rehab and in Broken Hill I started an organization called Feeding Friends. [00:01:30] We have a Facebook page, Feeding Friends2880 and we help the homeless here in Broken Hill. All started by myself, sitting down, sharing a homeless, sharing a meal with a homeless person. [00:01:44] And that's how it all started. [00:01:47] This podcast will feature other people as well throughout our episodes. [00:01:52] Other people who are reformed, reformed criminals, addicts in recovery. [00:01:59] And we'll feature them as special guests. Stay tuned folks, and let's get this ball rolling.
